Christmas Already?

Hello World
It seems like just yesterday I was writing about Christmas in July and Poof it’s Christmas Eve.  It’s been a whirlwind of Summer, Fall, and Winter Weddings and Events since my last post.  You are seeing this on our newly designed website Kudos to Jacey Lucas at TenEleven Design for the design work and Fabrice Figlionli for his work making it all work! As I sit and blog my daughters are busy in the kitchen making cookies. Mom scurries about cleaning and getting ready for our open house this evening. My day started early trying to do some shopping that most would have finished earlier. Last night was designated for shopping but a visit to a local watering hole with long time friends put a stop to those thoughts. Of course the Christmas beers from Sly Fox and Tomme Arthurs (Lost Abbey Brewery) gift of the Maji were outstanding. As one of the partners of Memphis Taproom it’s my duty to try all the Chistmas beers I can. Over the weekend I was at Yards Brewery for our pre Eagles tailgate and Tommy Kehoe broke out the soon to be unveiled Old Bart Barleywine. Being the house caterer at a great brewery has it’s advantages.

On the menu tonight is an Apple wood Bacon European Cheese Fusion Fondue and it smells great. A little Yards Brawler is the beer of choice for that recipe blended with Primadonna , Old Amsterdam, Aged Canadian Cheddar and Swiss Ementhal and of course the Applewood Smoked Bacon.  Local sausages from Martins in Reading Terminal and hearty breads from Artie our Bread man featuring favorites from Sarcones and Metropolitan are great to accompany the fondue alongside  Hot Fresh Philly Pretzels.  Other Diverse favorites being served include Rigatoni  with Gorgonzola Cream Sauce and a bountiful seafood display(it is the night of the 7 fishes) with some assorted pick up hors d’oeuvres to nibble.  I just visited our cellar to pick our wines and especially our Vinatge Christmas Beers.  This year picks from the vault are 2002 Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, 2006 De Dolle Stille Nacht,  2007 Coresdonk Christmas Ale, 2008 Sammy Smiths Winter Warmer along side this weeks vintage Yards Brawler picked up at the Brewery Yesterday.  Well with the girls dancing around with Snoopy to Vince Guraldi’s Linus and Lucy it’s my cue to leave you all with The Best Holiday Wishes for all and a Healthy Happy Diverse NewYear! Good Food and Good Beer to All and To All a Good Night!
